My Australian season was the best season I have ever had down under. I started my season in Thredbo NSW in the july school holidays with Transition Snowboarding. This camp was to get my legs back and ready for the season ahead. There where no big jumps up but I still had heaps of fun riding rails and free riding Thredbo's amazing snow.
The Burton Australian Junior series was a great success with a 3rd place in Slopestyle and halfpipe! I competed in my first Mile high in perisher and Style Wars in Falls Creek, I didn't get the results I wanted but it was such an awesome experience riding/competing against the best snowboarders in the world.
In-between these competitions I had time to film and get photos with Rick Martinez. Rick is a well respected Photographer and Videographer in the Australian snow industry. The small edit can be found on my Vimeo page and the photos from the days can be found on my Instagram and Ricks: @rick_martinez_media & @anguswaddo.
After all the competitions, photos and filming I had a couple of days to shred with my homies in the slushy sunny weather of Thredbo which was nothing but a good time.
During the first week of the spring holidays I was given a huge opportunity, an invite to the SSA (Ski & Snowboard Australia) performance camp in Perisher NSW. This camp was another success for me this season, I was training with the Australian Slopestyle team and the best Coaches in Australia along with guest coach Bud Keene (Shaun Whites coach). During the camp I was able to land some new tricks and lock some away. I landed a Cab double cork 900 and a FrontSide 1080 which where new to me, so basically by the end of the camp I was one happy kid with some new tricks for the U.S season in Colorado.
A massive thanks to Jarrod Wouters for coaching me this season, it was a BLAST!
